Ten (10) enrolled students who may require eyeglasses will be screened and diagnosed by the consultant during visits to Damboa, Gwoza, and Pulka. The Consultant at GHIV Africa must plan and create a framework over the course of three working days, and at the conclusion of the activity, submit a report. Consultant at GHIV Africa Required
- university degree in ophthalmology, optometry, or a similar profession. Advanced degrees or certifications in ophthalmology or optometry will be advantageous.
- Provide proof of your employment history, including the name of the company you’ve worked for (such as an eye clinic or hospital).
- Knowledge of eye assessment techniques, including eye examination, diagnosis, and medical eyeglass prescription.
- Experience working with government organizations, non-profit organizations, or hospitals would be advantageous.
- More than two years of professional experience.
- Managing time (to manage deliverables)
- Use of time effectively.
- professionalism, decency, and patience.
- Fluency in Hausa, Kanuri, and the fundamental Fulfulde language is advantageous.
- Be familiar with and comprehend the DO NO HARM principles and generally accepted standards for protecting children.
- Have a strong understanding of DO NO HARM, PSEAH rules, and child protection, and are skilled at working with children and other vulnerable people, especially in emergency situations.
- Working knowledge of refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and other disadvantaged groups.
